Lidl organized a fan meeting with the Lidl-Trek team in the parking lot of its store in Ravda just two days before the start of the Giro d'Italia in Bulgaria.
The event brought together hundreds of cycling fans who came to meet in person the Lidl-Trek riders who will ride in the stages of the Tour in Bulgaria. Among them were the team’s beloved stars Jonathan Milan, Giulio Ciccone, Simone Consoni and Derek G-West. Fans took pictures with them, got autographs and felt the atmosphere of one of the biggest races in the world, which started on May 8 in Nessebar.
In addition to meeting the riders, the program also included activities for young and old – virtual races with professional road bikes, a children’s bike track and games and challenges with prizes, as well as refreshing drinks and protein products from the Lidl assortment.
The event in Ravda kicked off a week dedicated to cycling, which continues with a three-day Lidl-Trek fan zone on Alexander Nevski Square in Sofia (8–10 May) as part of the Sofia Giro Park.
The partnership between Lidl and Lidl-Trek began in 2023 and focuses on the connection between sport, an active lifestyle and a balanced diet. With its support for Lidl-Trek, which brings together 77 competitors in four teams, the company aims not only to support professional sports, but also to inspire more people to choose cycling as a mean of transport.
